Well, this week I guess I raised some eyebrows with my lesson. I took my lesson from Luke 24, the story of the journey to Emmaus.

Luk 24:25

Then he said unto them, O fools, and slow of heart to believe all that the prophets have spoken:

Luk 24:26

Ought not Christ to have suffered these things, and to enter into his glory?

Luk 24:27

And beginning at Moses and all the prophets, he expounded unto them in all the scriptures the things concerning himself.

Luk 24:28

And they drew nigh unto the village, whither they went: and he made as though he would have gone further.

Luk 24:29

But they constrained him, saying, Abide with us: for it is toward evening, and the day is far spent. And he went in to tarry with them.

Luk 24:30

And it came to pass, as he sat at meat with them, he took bread, and blessed it, and brake, and gave to them.

Luk 24:31

And their eyes were opened, and they knew him; and he vanished out of their sight.

Luk 24:32

And they said one to another, Did not our heart burn within us, while he talked with us by the way, and while he opened to us the scriptures?

I suggested that as we partake of The Lord's Supper rather than viewing it as the Last Supper we think of it as The First Supper to commemorate that first breaking of the bread with the disciples in Emmaus, after which their eyes were opened and they understood Christ's teachings. Now, I know very well that the Lord said "Do this in remembrance of me" at the Last Supper and that is the reason we observe the bread and wine. Remember also, that the apostles' eyes were not opened until the risen Lord sat at meat with them while they were yet in hiding. I simply wish to point out that sometimes we are prone to give too much emphasis to the betrayal, torture and crucifixion and commemoration of the last supper of the old covenant, rather than focusing on the resurrection, triumph over death, and, if you will, the First Supper of the New Covenant when eyes were opened and the disciples UNDERSTOOD. As we partake, our hearts should burn as theirs did, with understanding of the eternal salvation provided by the Risen Christ !

This is really worth reading !

There are many Bible software programs available from a variety of sources ranging in price from $19.95 to over $395.00. There are also a number of free internet sites, some of which are listed on our Links Page. For those with slower connections, or those who wish to have Bible software on their own computers I strongly suggest taking a look at the software available from the following source:     You will find that the LightMaster software is excellent at a fraction of the cost of typical Bible software. This includes several Bible versions plus a number of references.   We also have a choice of several FREE Bible software programs for bible study available to members. These include titles such as: THEOPHILOS software, BIBLEPro software; Bible Desktop software; BibleDataBase software; E-Sword software and QUICKVerse software. All of these Bible study programs are available free of charge on the internet, but download times can be prohibitive with dial-up internet connections. We have copies of these which can be transferred to cd-rom for use on any Windows computer. We can also provide copies of some for use with MacIntosh systems. If you are interested please contact Keith Bailey for more information. Many of these programs are quite good. They may not have all the bells and whistles of the commercial packages or all of the extra content and fancy packaging, but they are excellent resources for Bible study, and quite easy to use. 2 Tim 4 Vs 2-5   Preach the word, Be instant in season, Out of season, reprove, rebuke, exhort with all long-suffering and doctrine. For the time will come when people will not endure sound doctrine, but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers having itching ears. And they shall turn away their ears from the truth and shall be turned unto fables. But watch you in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, make full proof of your ministry.

We here at the Fitchville Church Of Christ would LOVE hearing from You.

In Rev. 20 starting with Vs 11 it says,

Rev 20:11 And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them.

Rev 20:12 And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.

Rev 20:13 And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works.

Rev 20:14 And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.

Rev 20:15 And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.

This my Friends was John's account of the judgment day! - or as I like to put it JUDGMENT DAY IN GOD'S COURTROOM! And CHRIST being judge and jury of all.

Imagine if you will all kinds of people there! One after another you will hear the GUILTY. "DEPART FROM ME, I NEVER KNEW YOU". We will see someone that we will recognize in that line.

A daughter will say to her mother WHY didn't you tell me more about HIM.

A son says to his father WHY didn't you tell me more of Jesus and less about sports.

We all should think about judgment day and get ready because our day in GOD'S Courtroom is coming. Where we all will stand before the savior of the world.
